Since 2008, The Plaza Arts Center has been a cultural mainstay in Georgia’s Lake Country. More than 45,000 people visit The Plaza every year to enjoy its wide range of public programs and events, to attend meetings, and to take advantage of a variety of educational opportunities presented. There’s also a big audience for the fun shows put on each year by The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts, which also hosts fantastic performers from around the world to share their talents on the Eatonton stage.
The dedicated team at The Plaza makes its mission to cultivate community knowledge and skills through public programming like their summer theater camp and art camp, and their free After School Art program for kids in K through 8th grade. There are also workshops and classes offered to the public that are designed for adults and people of all ages.
With The Plaza Arts Center so consistently providing an outstanding level of education and entertainment, as well as serving as a place to gather for local performers, artists, and social and civic groups, it’s only natural that The Plaza should be commonly called, “the heartbeat of downtown Eatonton!”
