The Jazz Legacy Project: Charlie Parker, Einstein of Modern Music at Festival Hall

Parker's rare combination of genius and persistence created a turning point in modern music. A kid who grew up on Kansas City blues helped turn jazz from a dance hall craze to music that belongs next to Bach. As with Louis Armstrong, music would never be the same after "Bird."

Each 90-minute program explores the lives and music of influential American jazz musicians through engaging narration by drummer Justin Varnes and performances of key jazz pieces. The focus is on celebrating the essence and achievements of each artist, not recreating their original performances.

Elements: Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute at The Plaza Arts Center

Covering a band as ground-breaking and multi-talented as Earth Wind and Fire is no small task, but Elements does it with style. Known as one of the best Earth, Wind, and Fire cover bands in the country, Elements combines tight horn arrangements, soaring falsettos, and a pulsating groove into one unforgettable night of hits like “Shining Star,” “September,” and “Boogie Wonderland” among others.

Elements has over 50 years of combined recording, performing, and touring experience. The tribute band covers all of Earth, Wind, and Fire’s greatest hits spanning over three decades with a full band of brass, percussion, and talented vocalists.

It’s that time of year again!

Until Next Week, Friend!
