Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn at Festival Hall
Head over to Festival Hall for an unforgettable evening as the Lake Country Players present "Big River," a musical journey down the Mississippi River.
BIG RIVER sweeps audiences down the mighty Mississippi, as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend, Jim, escape slavery to freedom. Their wild adventures along the way are by turns hilarious, suspenseful, and heartwarming, bringing to life everyone’s favorite characters from the timeless novel.
The show is directed by Charlotte Mosteller, with choreography by Mo Brower and musical direction by Donna Valvo. We are excited to feature Ontario Williams as Jim and Tyler Stella as Huck Finn. Other cast members include Steve Pond as the Duke, Drace Langford as the King, Johnny Wagoner as Pap, LaTonya Parham Thompkins as Alice, and Zak Ralston as Tom Sawyer. Along with a diverse ensemble of 18 talented performers, this show will be a highly entertaining experience for all ages.

The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn present "Working: A Musical"
Working: A Musical put on by The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn as the Broadway Intensive production this year, proved to be a success in the first weekend of shows. Audience members got a deep dive into the lives of working people and their stories. Between the acting and singing, Working: A Musical is full of themes that truly moved the audiences. 24 young people learned this production in just 3 weeks, making it even more impressive. With glowing reviews on social media, this musical is one that you will want to bring your whole family to. There are performances this weekend: Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 1:30 and 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at plazacenter.org.
Don’t Miss Auditions for PAPA’s Don’t Dress For Dinner!
Are you ready to step into the spotlight and showcase your talent? Now is your chance! PAPA is hosting auditions for 'Don't Dress for Dinner,' a comedy written by Marc Camoletti and adapted for the stage by Robin Hawdon.
There are six characters in the cast who should appear as if they are in the ages from 30’s to 50’s.
OPEN AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD:
Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, from 6:00-7:30 P.M. in the theater of the Plaza Arts Center.
Rehearsals will begin in early September with specific dates and rehearsal times set by the selected cast and directors. The play will be performed at the Plaza Arts Center on November 14, 15, 17, 21, and 22.
