Salutations, my lake loving creatures of the night! I really hope you love our Halloween edition of this week’s newsletter. Halloween is my favorite holiday; I love anything spooky including horror movies, haunted houses, and insane costumes. I think it’s so much fun to dress up and hang out with friends and family on such a fun day. Whenever I hear Thriller by Michael Jackson, I know it’s time to get into the haunting spirit.
I have fond memories of Halloween as a kid. We’d go on a hayride around town and trick or treat and then go back to my friend’s house for a big Halloween party. I truly just loved dressing up as my favorite character each year. My best costume to date was a ventriloquy doll! But enough about me. I hope this Halloween brings back all the spooky nostalgia from when you were a kid. Whether you believe in the Great Pumpkin or ghosts that haunt historic Lake Sinclair, there’s a treat, or trick, for everyone this weekend.
This week, we’ve got something for witches and warlocks alike. As you may have guessed, we’ve got frightfully fun events and bewitched blogs to get you excited for Halloweekend. Get out of that coffin and explore the fun here at Lake Sinclair. No need to be afraid, keep on reading!

Sylvia: Eatonton’s Beloved Ghost
Have you heard of Sylvia, Eatonton’s ghost? If you haven’t, you need to read our blog about the spirit that locals love and look for at Panola Hall. There’s even a coffee shop named after her that’s owned by the people that reside where Sylvia once did. Sylvia had a tragic ending, but don’t worry; she’s one of the good ghosts. I won’t spoil her story, so go read this not-so-spooky blog now!
Insane History: Milledgeville’s Lunatic Asylum
If you haven’t heard yet, Milledgeville is home to what once was the largest insane asylum in the world. Now known as Central State Hospital, this campus has become mostly abandoned and talked about in numerous documentaries. This is one of Georgia’s most interesting places. They also offer tours! Read our blog about this frightful facility.
