Good morning!

If this issue had a theme song, it would need a full band to play it. The Swingin' Medallions and Blake Robert are playing Downtown Greensboro's music weekend Friday and Saturday, and if that's not enough, I've got a Hamilton sing-along on the calendar and a Cole Porter tribute worth saving a date for. In between all that music, you'll find a Lake Sinclair listing with some of the clearest water on the lake, a look at the new 55+ cottage community going up at Higher Ground, and your full weekend roundup. Let's get to it.

Making Waves is brought to us by Nick Montgomery of Selling Sinclair

508 Rockville Springs Drive sits on the main lake with some of the clearest water Sinclair has to offer, plus a shared double-stall boathouse with a boatlift and a hangout area right at the shoreline. Up at the house, you'll find 3 bedrooms: each with its own full bath, which is rare and genuinely useful when the whole crew comes down for the weekend, vaulted ceilings, a granite kitchen with a separate bar space for entertaining, and a screened porch with a straight shot view of the water. The finished daylight basement opens onto a lakeside patio and is ready to be a bunkroom, rec room, or all of the above.

At 2,959 square feet on 0.71 acres, it's listed at $515,000.

Reach Nick at (706) 816-0841 or [email protected] - he'll get you sold on Sinclair.

Higher Ground Active Adult Living

If you've been hearing about Higher Ground Lake Country and wondering what it's all about, here's the short version: it's a brand-new 55+ rental cottage community going up in Milledgeville, right alongside Fellowship Meriwether, and it's built for people ready to trade yard work and home maintenance for a full calendar and good neighbors. No mortgage, no upkeep, no downsizing headaches: just a master-planned, golf-cart-friendly neighborhood designed around actually enjoying this chapter.

The cottages are coming along, and the community is set to welcome its first residents later this year. But you don't have to wait to get a feel for the place, the Higher Ground crew hosts fun, come-as-you-are events where you can meet the team, ask all your questions, and see if the lifestyle fits. Check the event section below for what's coming up.

This Week on the Blog: Your Weekend Plans, Sorted

Don't spend Friday afternoon scrolling around trying to figure out what's happening, I've already done it for you. This weekend's roundup is live on the blog, and it's a full one: the America 250 wine tasting kicks things off Friday at Lockerly Arboretum, Saturday brings everything from a family paddle on the Oconee River to a sunset paddle to Duke's After Dark with The Southern Boogie Band, and Shrek – The Musical runs all weekend. Whether you're hosting guests or just looking for a reason to get off the dock, start here.

Hamilton Sing-Along Movie Night

Mark your calendar for this one: Thursday, August 20 at 6:00 PM, Downtown Greensboro is putting Hamilton on the big screen at City Hall (212 North Main Street), and you're invited to sing along. In the summer we're celebrating America's 250th, I can't think of a more fitting pick than Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-, Grammy-, and Pulitzer-winning take on the Founding Fathers. It's worth the drive to Greensboro, and yes - knowing every word is encouraged.

That's the issue, now go pick your soundtrack for the weekend. If I see you singing along somewhere between Greensboro and Eatonton, come say hi.

See you around, Holly
